We welcome school and university visits from students of all ages to the center and its exhibitions.
We can offer visiting students a guided tour (by appointment) in which we will introduce them to the theme of the present exhibition and the works on display as well as hold a discussion or question & answer session at the end.
To make arrangements for a guided visit, a visit outside of opening hours, or for more information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
In addition to guided tours, Beirut Art Center has recently launched a comprehensive educational program. This includes offering guided tours to teachers from schools and universities with the aid of educational worksheets prepared by the Beirut Art Center team. These educational worksheets can then be used as a tool by teachers to introduce their students to the main ideas of the exhibition as well as translate the sometimes complex language of contemporary art for students and non-specialist teachers. The educational worksheets give teachers the flexibility to tailor their own guided tours to their students' interests and abilities. Educational worksheets are available free of charge in English, French and Arabic.
Beirut Art Center also produces simplified A4 educational worksheets which are distributed at the reception desk to children and young people visiting with their parents or alone. These more general worksheets provide an overview of each exhibition and help children work through the key ideas and themes presented in the show on their own.
Educational worksheets are also available to download from our website. Either click on the 'current exhibition' tab on the Beirut Art Center homepage before selecting 'Publication', or click on the 'exhibition' tab on the top left, followed by 'current'. Select the current exhibition from the list, then click on the 'Publication' tab.
Beirut Art Center's educational and outreach program is supported by the Ford Foundation.
